Everthing you need to know before catching up on BlizzConline 2021

CoVid19 impacted many of our lives and still does. Roughly a year after we uncovered its existence, companies have found ways to continue connecting with special events.
Since obviously we can not physically visit our favorite conventions and events during this exceptional state the world is in currently, executives had to come up with other plans — in BlizzCon’s case, people responsible for planning the convention decided to delay the event for preparation from late 2020 to early 2021 and hold it online, for free.
Fans and games journalists from all over the world expected to hear news about the long awaited new entries in Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo series and the sequel to the popular esports title Overwatch — both of which were publicly announced during last BlizzCon back in 2019, not giving lots of more detailed information last year. But recently, the video game developer and publisher announced that Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV won’t be released this year.
However, rumors about a Diablo II remaster tend to solidify as we approach the starting day of the event, as game studio Vicarious Visions which is responsible for the recently critically acclaimed remasters of Tony Hawk’s Pro skater and Crash Bandicoot joins forces with Blizzard. Plus, an employee just leaked the previously unknown code name for project “Fenway” on Linkedin.
This year marks also the 30th anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment as a company. Based on this theme, ingame items that usually would be acquired through purchasing a virtual ticket, giving people all over the world the ability to follow the otherwise mostly on-site panels via online streaming are now made available with so-called celebration collection packs. An outstanding feature in this collection may be a StarCraft themed Reinhardt skin for Overwatch. Prices for range from 19.99$ for the Essentials Pack to 59.99$ for the Epic pack.
